6 Frenchmoor
Dear Sir,
My husband's family name was Warren. One member a John Willie or William Warren lived at 6 French Moor, West Tytherly with his wife Ellen. John worked at the saw mill as a carter. I would love to hear if anyone remembers them. John died in 1972.
Regards,
Sue Harding-Payne
=============================
Jack (Nobby) Warren came to No.6 Frenchmoor in about 1910 or so. He was a carter and also came to look after the cows and horses.
We have lived at No.7 (next door) since 1960. His daughter Ruth married to Jack Mundey and lived in Salisbury. They had two sons, Phillip and Clive. I used to take Nobby to the pub once a week or so.
He always said that as long as he had some "baccy" for his pipe and a bit of bread and cheese then he was happy. My Wife, Jenny, used to cook him a hot meal once or twice a week.
If you care to email me then I will see what else I can remember !!!!!
Kindest Regards
Peter Noyce
