Hibbert

Dear Sir/Madam

I thought you and those interested in the history of West Tytherley might be interested in a new publication, Dear Ray, based on the Second World War correspondence of the Hibberd family, many of whose members lived in West Tytherley. I attach a flyer for your information.

Although the letters are not written from West Tytherley itself - Ray's immediate family had moved to just outside London - many family members, including his grandmother and uncle are mentioned in the correspondence as still living at West Tytherley, and the history of the family in the village is provided in brief; the Rev James Pitkin has been very helpful in this respect and is credited in the acknowledgements. Various parts of the West Tytherley, including the church, are also pictured in the book (note; these are recent photographs and not historic ones).

Should you, or those using the West Tytherley website be interested in further details then they are available on the Loaghtan Books website (address below).

I hope this is informative.

Best wishes
