Sopps Farm

Dear Sir,

I would like to know who now lives at Sopps Farm as I used to work there in 1944. Does anybody remember me?

Tommy Copp

I am writing on behalf of my mother Peggy (Phyllis) Deacon who worked at Sopps Farrm as a Land Girl between 1943 - 1945 doing dairy work.

I have been doing some research on my mothers work as a Land Girl since taking her to the service at Winchester Cathedral earlier this year. She started off at Sopps farm and after a couple of years I gather the farm was sold and she moved to a farm at Red Rice near Andover for the rest of her time as a Land Girl.

A friend took her back to Sopps Farm recently and I gather it is no longer there. If you could give me any information relevant to the farm, or the people who worked there, I would be grateful.

Kind Regards
Sue Mackie
