Minutes of Council Meeting held on
Monday, 11th
February 2008, at 1930h in King Edward’s Hall
Present: Councillors: A. Bowditch (AB) (Chairman); L.Bowditch (LB); J.Bundy (JB); A.Mavrogordato (AM); E.Dowding (ED); L.Koetser (Clerk); Neville Whiteley (NW); R Warwick (RW) (Footpath Warden) and four members of the public.

Minutes of
Council Meeting held on 14th January 2008
The Chairman pointed out two
amendments to the minutes as follows:
7.2 ED asked if the Clerk could
swap money in and out of the Council’s savings account to gain interest. The Council agreed and the Clerk said she
would make enquiries about setting up internet banking. Action

11.2 Three pot holes have been reported along
It was proposed by LB and seconded by JB that these be
signed by the Chairman as a true record of the meeting.

5.1. NW
said that he was chasing HCC for replacement funds following the withdrawal of
the Farepass travel funding for the elderly. Action NW
5.2. AB asked NW if he could find any spare money from TVBC to donate to the building of the pavement outside the Village Hall; NW said he would look into the matter. Action NW
5.3. AB asked if the new recycling bins, soon to be installed outside the Village Hall, would fit in and be accessible after the new pavement has been built. Action NW

7.2. The Clerk confirmed that she had completed an on line application for internet banking for the Parish Council bank accounts.

reported that the Core Strategy Preferred Options paper was being circulated to
members of the Parish Council who must comment in February. Action

reported that he had not seen the planning application for 30
He also asked if the Clerk would notify Jane Gimple and Sally Collier (West
Dean Parish Council) of any applications relating to West Dean. Action

9.1. AB
said that Andy Page had provided a comprehensive quote of £1154 to complete the
renovation of the football pavilion showers.
The Parish Council agreed to this and the Clerk said she would write to
him to and ask him to begin work. Action Clerk
9.2. AB
asked if the Clerk would write to Mike Eastwood accepting his quote for maintenance
of
9.3. AB reported
that Wayne Smith from Eastleigh Football Club would like to hold further
football sessions on Saturday mornings from 9.00 to 11.00, at a charge of
£20.00 per session. AB suggested that

said he would remind Louise Falcini, from the village fete committee, to book a
date for the fete with the Parish Council.

10. Highways & Footpaths
10.1.
RW reported that he was still waiting to hear back fro
HCC regarding his footpath report. He said he had cleared some overgrowth on
paths.
10.2.
AM said that he had spoken with the land owner of Newmans Barn Farm to discuss the fowling of the road
through the village following recent filling on his land. The land owner said the mess musts have
fallen off the lorries on the way in and out of the
village. AM said he asked the land owner
if he would make arrangements with the haulage company to avoid any spillage
next time.
11. AOB
11.1.
The Clerk reported that she had spoken to HALC
who advised that any claim for a grant to aid the Village Shop should be made
by the West Tytherley Shop Committee.
She had an application form and some information for the committee. AB said that he had spoken to Richard Gribble
from the Shop Committee who said that a representative was paying him a visit
to discuss the possibility of a grant.
11.2.
A member of the public asked why the police had not
alerted the neighbourhood watch about the person involved in the recent police
chase around the village. AM said he would
ask the police about this. Action AM
11.3.
JB reported that he had met with the Dean Hill Strategy
Group. It is now going to the called
Dean Hill Forum. All the tunnel are now
being rented out the various museums and had only one work shop left to rent. On the botanical side, the rare Rejuvenating
Juniper has been found flourishing on the land there.
11.4.
AB said that a gas gun was going off all night at one
of the neibouring farms. AB said he would contact the farm owner and
ask if he would change the timer so it would not go off through the dark
nights. Action AB
There being no other business the Chairman closed the meeting at 20.15h.
