Minutes of Council Meeting held on Tuesday, 10 April 2007, at 1930h in King Edward’s Hall
Present: A.Bowditch (AB) (Chairman); J.Guy (JG); D.Rimmington (DR); J.Bundy (JB); S.Dowding (SD); L.Koetser (Clerk) and four members of the public.

JB declared his interests in Park Cottage, West Dean having carried out work there in the past.

Minutes of
Council Meeting held on 12th March 2007
After alterations were made to items 10.2 and 10.4 it was proposed by JG and seconded by JB that these minutes be signed by the Chairman as a true record of the Meeting.

The contract was signed by the Clerk and the Chairman.

7.
Correspondence
7.1. The
Chairman circulated a written request from King Edwards Village Hall Committee
asking for the annual donation of £650 towards insurance costs. This was agreed by the Parish Council in its
budget for 2007.
7.2. King
Edwards Village Hall Committee also requests that the Parish Council make a
contribution towards the forthcoming modernisation work at the hall. The Parish Council agreed that they would
like to see plans and financial information before it agrees a figure. The Clerk would write to the Hall Committee
to request this information. Action Clerk

Planning
9.1. JG
reported that he had passed the Parish Council’s comments regarding the
application to Park Cottage, West Dean to the planning inspectors and is
awaiting news of the TVBC planning hearing.
9.2. Brown Line
JG reported that he had sought permission from parish members to incorporate
their comments regarding the brown line in his report to TVBC.
10.
Recreation
Ground
The Clerk reported that she would write to Saints in the Community Football
Training to request payment for their use of the recreation ground. Action

11.
Highways & Footpaths
11.1. AB asked the Clerk
to keep up to date with the progress of the ground works at the school with
regards to the flooding problem. Action Clerk
11.2. The Footpath
Warden issued the following report: Mr Coggan confirmed that he would arrange to repair the stile
on footpath no.3 by the end of the month.
11.3. JG reported that
the large pot hole along
11.4. AB agreed to
speak with East Bros. Sawmills at West Dean about the pot holes created in the
road by large lorries turning into the yard. Action

11.5. The Clerk
reported that she was still waiting to hear from the Highways Department about
ownership of the verge outside Mr King’s house (Tuderly)
and would make further enquiries. Action Clerk

Air
Ambulance
AB reported that he has received confirmation that King Edward’s Village Hall Committee have agreed to place a Hampshire Air Ambulance Clothing Bank outside the village hall next to the other recycling bins.
13. Elections
13.1. AB reported that
numbers of elected parish councillors were listed on the TVBC web site and it
showed there were six councillors for
13.2. AB announced that DR and SD were stepping down from the position of Parish Councillors and thanked them for all they had done for the Council over the years.

Annual
General Meeting, Annual Parish Meeting & Parish Council Meeting
These meetings will be held together on Monday 14th May 2007 at 7:00 pm. Refreshments will be provided. The Clerk will produce posters for the village notice boards. Action Clerk

15.1. JB reported that
15.2. SD reported that
he had received information regarding water levels for the Parish area and they
were well within the safety limits.
15.3. AB reported that
one of the three trees outside the village shop would be felled shortly and the
remaining two would be felled as soon as the rooks have finished nesting for
the year.
15.4. Clerk will investigate the possibility of getting a grant for the upkeep of the village War Memorial. Action Clerk
There being no other business the Chairman closed the meeting at 20:05h.
