Minutes of Council Meeting held on

Monday, 14 May 2007, at 1930h in King Edward’s Hall

 

 

 

Present: Councillors: A. Bowditch (AB) (Chairman); T.Mousley (TM) (Vice Chairman); J.Guy (JG); L.Bowditch (LB); J.Bundy (JB); A. Mavrogordato (AM); E. Dowding (ED); L.Koetser (Clerk); Councillor N.Whiteley; Councillor M.Woodhall; J Gimpel, West Dean Parish Council; D Lyon Footpath and Tree Warden and nine members of the public.

1.      Minutes of Council Meeting held on 10th April 2007

 

It was proposed by LB and seconded by JG that these be signed by the Chairman as a true record of the Meeting.

Councillor Michael Woodhall gave his report at the Annual Parish Meeting held earlier in the evening – see separate minutes.

Councillor Neville Whiteley gave his report at the Annual Parish Meeting held earlier in the evening – see separate minutes.

 

5.      Correspondence

 

Following a letter from Mr Whitlock , King Edwards Village Hall Committee, the Parish Council agreed to donate a previously agreed amount of £1,500 towards the village hall refurbishment.  The Clerk would write to the Hall Committee to confirm this.  Action Clerk

6.      Finance & Cheques

 

6.1.   It was proposed by TM and seconded by JB that the following cheques be signed:

6.4.   AB asked the clerk to request new bank signatory forms for AM and EB.  The clerk would contact Lloyds Bank.  Action Clerk

7.1.   Brown Line

The Clerk reported that she had sent the council’s planning report to TVBC. They responded and said that they would use this report to help them form their rural planning policies.  The Clerk would arrange to have this document placed on the village web site.  Action Clerk

 

8.      Recreation Ground

 

8.1.   The Clerk reported that she had received a printed invoice and cheque for £90.00 from Saints in the Community Football Training but was still waiting to receive a new set of dates from them; she would request this again.  Action Clerk

 

8.2.   AB reported that he had received a letter from West Tytherley School requesting that the school and village fete be held on the recreation ground on Saturday 23 June.  The council agreed and asked the clerk to write to the school to confirm this and also request that the school ensures that no dogs are allowed on the recreation ground and that it is left in a tidy state after the fete. Action Clerk

9.       Highways & Footpaths

9.1.     AB asked the Clerk to contact the builders at the school and ask them to dig out the gulley at Coopers Track and make-good the banks, once the building work had finished. Action Clerk

9.2.     JG reported that although the pot holes in Chapel Hill had been filled the job had not been done satisfactorily.  The clerk will report this to Hampshire Highways.  Action Clerk

 

9.3.     D. Lyon, the Footpath Warden reported that the broken stile on the Mr Coggan’s land had been repaired and suggested that the clerk write a letter of thanks to him.  Action Clerk

10.  Air Ambulance

 

AB reported that the Hampshire Air Ambulance clothing bank had been installed at the recycling area of the village next to the hall.

There being no other business the Chairman closed the meeting at 20:41h.
