To create and provide our children with a stable and caring environment in which to grow and develop.

The school is part of the Test Valley Schools association, a group of seven small rural primary schools committed to enriching the quality and scope of opportunities offered to our pupils. Within this group, sporting and musical activities are arranged.

History and Information

West Tytherley Primary School was founded in 1855. Being a church controlled school it maintains close links with the local clergy and with the Diocese. We believe in teaching the children to follow a Christian way of life. We aim to create and provide our children with a stable and caring environment in which to grow and develop. We have close links with the local community and many of our children have parents and grandparents who were also pupils of our school.

The school catchment area includes West Tytherley, Frenchmoor, Buckholt and the neighbouring villages of West Dean and East Tytherley. The children from East Tytherley and West Dean take a bus to and from school. The school admits children between the ages of 4 and 11.

How it is run:

The Governors commit themselves to ensure that West Tytherley C.E.Controlled Primary School will serve the children by providing the best it can offer to encourage each child to fulfill his/her spiritual, moral, academic, social, emotional, physical and cultural potential in a Christian caring community.

The School Governors hold regular meetings with the Head teacher and staff to ensure that the curricular policies of the Local Education Authority and the requirements of the Education Reform Act 1988 are met.
