Whilst browsing the internet, I came across the West Tytherley webpage. Having lived in the village in the early 1960's. At 13 North Lane. with my wife and son, our daughter was born at that address in September 1962. I worked at the sawmills Reef & Sons. Being a very long time ago now, names are very hard to remember. A name that comes to mind is a family by the name of Reaks that lived in No 12 North Lane. I think that they emigrated to Australia at some stage. There was also a Scottish man that worked at the sawmills of that time, he lived in Bentley woods. If there is anyone that remembers the village and sawmills of that era, I would love to hear from them. Things that remain in my memory is the old post office of the 60's and Buddens coach and bus services, their garage was opposite the old post office. Out of curiosity, when my wife and I paid a visit to West Tytherley last summer, going into the now, new post office. I had a conversation with the post mistress regards folk that lived in the village of that period of time, unfortunately she could not throw any light of people that lived in the village in the 1960's.
