WHAT’S HAPPENING?
We welcome David Rimmington to the Council following his success at the recent election.
The Parish Council has had imposed upon it the name “the Parish Council of Greater West Tytherley”. We are taking steps to alter the name to the Parish Council of West Tytherley and Frenchmoor.
Thank you to all those who responded to our enquiry as to what, if any, name should be adopted for the stretch of road between the bottom of Chalk Pit Hill and the junction by the war memorial. Very soon there will be one final questionnaire providing a choice of 2 names. If there is demonstrable support for a new name, it is likely to be adopted.
We have decided against providing a tennis
court on the recreation ground. However, by kind permission of the headmaster
and bursar of Norman Court School, tennis facilities will be available
a at the school upon payment of a modest annual fee. Membership forms will be available in the shop in due course.
We have also investigated the possibility of building a permanent barbeque on the rec. However, difficulties with insurance make the impracticable.

The Annual General Meeting was held in King
Edwards Hall on Wednesday 12th June.
The Chairmnan was able to report another satisfactory trading year, and
expressed the committee’s thanks to all those that had made it possible.
A new management committee, consisting of the following:~
B.Whitlock (Chairman), P. Harris (Association Sec.).C.Burton (Shop
Manager), S.Davis (Post Office), E.Bowditch, S.Dowding, R.Lodge, P.Cockman and
C. Strutt were duly appointed by the meeting to serve for the forthcoming year.
My thanks go to all those that attended the meeting, and contributed so
well to the topics raised by the floor under A.O.B. The points raised have
certainly given the new committee food for thought. One suggestion, was that
the shop should bake and sell it’s own bakery products. This is being actively
pursued, so watch this space for further news.
It was also apparent, as a result of the
debate, that a lot of our customers are unaware that the shop offers a ‘FREE
HOME DELIVERY SERVICE’ to those that require it Please ask the shop manager,
for further details.
Finally to those newcomers to our small community that have not yet
sampled the delight’s of our little emporium, what are you waiting for, please
come along and let our staff serve you, whilst at a the same time keeping you
abreast of all the latest village news.
Thank you
Chairman Barry Whitlock

I am concerned about suspicious vehicles which do seem to be about - if you’re not happy about a vehicle, please jot down the number and let me know.
In West Dean we had a “Distraction” burglary, whereby a person purported to be a tradesman, and whilst he was distracting the occupant a second person stole the handbag from inside. If you’re not happy with any tradesman, ask for an ID or call the police, If you can, note any vehicle registration numbers.
I would like to thank everyone for making me feel very welcome and I hope in the near future to touch base with most people.
Please note I can be contacted on 01794 340375, or my mobile 07813 100301, or E mail
